Becoming Broker vs Starting a Team

I saw a great discussion on here recently regarding staying with a broker or starting your own brokerage. I was wondering if anyone had feedback, experience, or thoughts on the pros and cons of starting a brokerage vs starting a team (Keller Williams style team structure). Any thoughts appreciated! Personal experience or experience of close friends is a major plus!

@Caitlyn Balderas So much depends on what your future goals on and what you want to spend your time growing. As a team leader, you will still be heavily involved in buying/selling of RE without the costly overhead and liability that broker have. However, you still will be giving some commission to your broker and be "under" them.

Brokers have wayyyyy more liability but you are in complete control of every aspect of your business. You could be a loan wolf just doing your own thing or you could not even concentrate on buying/selling RE and instead focus on attracting agents to hang their license under you and then assist them.

Both are a fine route to take. Just depends on what your goals are and which route helps you attain those goals the best.

Best of luck!
