Whats best way to find single family rental properties?

Hello what is the best way to find rental properties to purchase? single-family homes. I am interested in starting real estate investing with rental properties but I don't know where to get started to find my first property. should I look in the MLS should I send out yellow letters can I talk to friends and family what do you think?
