Newbie Investor looking to buy SFH in Pompano Beach, Florida

Posted

My wife and I are moving to Pompano Beach in 6 to 9 months. My wife was adamant about renting in hopes to return to California after 1 year. However, this is a company move and I realistically expect to be staying in Florida for 2 to 5 years at the least. I think we should buy and try to open up our options to earn some value if/when we return to California. We have a local agent there but can you please give me any advice on Florida real estate, should I buy a fully updated house or go for a minor fixer upper that needs updates adding value to the home for a possible rental property? What kind of rules should i be using for better results in this area? Thank you in advance.

The newbie hopeful,

Carlos
