Am I being played

After looking at a property with my R.E. agent, and submitting an offer, my agent called me and said that another interested buyer's agent called to say that his client was submitting an offer at or near full asking price. My agent said that I should consider increasing my offer. Am I being played? Should I stick with my original offer? Thank you,
Kevin

Figure out how much its worth to you, and don't offer any more. There will always be another house...
