Why are real estate agents in Los Angeles generally rude?

I am asking this because I am generally curious. Whenever I have called listing agents in any city outside of Los Angeles, even San Francisco and New York, the listing agents are friendly, give information and ask if I want to see it or want more information. It seems to be the exact opposite when I call agents in Los Angeles most of the time.

Am I the only one with this experience?

Start the conversation off by letting them know you already have a pre-approval letter in hand and you intend to buy by this summer and you should be taken quite seriously.  If you are leading with that type of intro and they are still being rude then they are probably not doing very much business and you don't want to deal with them anyway.
