Converting Basement into Livable unit
Hey team,
I've come across a single family house that has a large basement that has potential to be converted into a living space. It already has a bathroom half built into it.
I was wondering if I need to have any permits or abide by any codes to have the basement be considered a livable unit. Is there somewhere I can find information on it? Is there a person I should be asking?
Thank you for your help, with this and with anything else concerning turning the basement into a unit.
Nate
