Purchasing in Baltimore

Buying a property in Baltimore and during the title search found that there is an outstanding tax redemption case on the property. The owner is current on their taxes. My Question is can we have the release cured through the sellers proceeds at closing or does the owner need to straighten this out prior to closing. We are set to close January 17th. There doesn't appear to be much movement that I can see from MD Case Search.
