Rental cap - Chicago suburb townhomes
Planning to buy a property in chicago suburbs - hoffman estates/palatine area. I will be planning to live for few years and then convert it into rental property. I liked a few townhomes but most of them have rental caps with wait times. The ones that doesn't have are also planning to bring them in future(per their prev hoa meeting notes). Is there a way to find ones with no rental cap or is single family homes the only option here if I have rental plans for future?

@Jay Kumar this is definitely a common issue with condo/town home investing. I have run into clients here in the suburbs who have struggled with this issue. There definitely are town homes in the area that don't have the cap, but there is no efficient way to find them on the MLS or any of the sites that syndicate data from the MLS. With my last client, we just manually made a list that he liked and then I researched the ones that allowed for rentals.
