Vacation Rentals in and around Orlando, FL
Hello everyone,
I am looking to buy vacation home in Orlando FL near Disney world. The primary purpose is to earn vacation rental income and plus use the house for some days in a year. And people who are already own STR , please share your experiences as well , is it worth it ??
thanks

@Vijay Nagi If you are going to be buying a STR keep in mind that the city or Orlando has recently imposed strict regulations that do not allow a entire home to be used as a STR. You must live in the property and cannot rent more than half the rooms. That being said down by Disney it is not the City of Orlando so the restrictions are different. I am not in the STR game so I am not up to speed with the regulations in that area but just to be sure to know what you can and can't do before you buy. Also keep in mind that every county in Florida requires that you pay Excise Tax or bed tax on rentals that are shorter than 6 months. This is the the same tax hotels charge. As far as I know none of the STR sites have any kind of integration that allows you to have them track and pay this for you. This alone should not deter you but it is something to know about so you don't get into legal trouble for not paying taxes because that will ruin any business.
