Inspection while buying house
Hi all!
My name is Nathalie, I'm a new investor and I have some questions:
I understand that we should do home inspections while purchasing a property.
If I were to purchase a house that has been vacant for a while (single or small multi-family), and utilities had been cut off by owner, obviously the inspection will not be accurate since HVAC, electricity and water are not working.
In this case, do you connect all utilities during Due Diligent period to get an accurate inspection?
Or do you NOT connect utility, and risk to find out if the HVAC, electricity, plumbing, etc. need repair after closing?
(which would obviously affect the Repair cost estimate)
Thank you :)

@Nathalie Chew Milton is right that your contract should say that the utilities have to be turned on by the owner!
I'd never suggest buying a property if you're not able to check out the function of those main items!
