Considering investing in Cleveland, Ohio
Hello all!!
I’m located in the NJ/NYC area. I’m looking to invest in real estate out of state as my first venture into real estate investing. I’m currently looking into the Cleveland,OH market because it’s a lot more affordable to purchase as my first project. I’ve been doing a lot of research so I’m aware that there are many avenues to investing.
The key reasons for my post:
- Looking for some advice from people who have knowledge on the Cleveland, OH market. Would you recommend buying, rehabbing, and flipping here? Which areas do you feel are best to invest in?
- Looking for other investors who are willing to team up for different projects (not only in Ohio).
- Does anyone have experience getting loan approvals for out of state purchases?
I’m looking forward to any feedback and knowledge you all can provide!
Thank you

@Danitra Wynn speaking directly from your shoes (originally from NY now based out in DC) as I just purchased my first rental in the Cleveland area without ever physically looking at the property it's certainly possible! I would utilize @James Wise map wisely! (it was paramount for me in narrowing down areas I wanted to look deeper into in terms of research) as well as shore up your team before diving in remember to ask questions questions questions! and don't be afraid to fire an agent or team member that is not delivering! With technology being what it is today I was able to face-time with my current agent and perform a general walk through of the property as well as with my inspectors (unbiased important part of your team) a second time as they gave me their feedback on the property before placing an offer. If you have any questions in regards to my process don't hesitate to pm me and all the best with your search!
