Evaluating a property damaged by fire

I'm planning to look at a property being sold as is that was "compromised by a fire". Just looking for advice as to what additional things I may need to consider when evaluating this place. Do I need to plan to get a structural engineer in there to check the place out? Any special contingencies I may want to put on my offer should I make one? Etc. Any and all advice is appreciated.
