Buying an owner-occupied duplex

Dean Klein
Posted

Hi everyone. I own 4 rental properties including my primary residence that I house hack. I am getting interested in moving again and purchasing another duplex to live in so that I can put a smaller amount than 25% down. As far as I can tell, the lowest I can put down is 15% without going FHA which I don't want to do because of the PMI. Is this the standard going owner occupied?

@Dean Klein guidelines were updated back in October to allow you to own other properties.
