Can someone buy a property on my behalf?

I have a bird-dog finding me out of state distressed properties and a contractor lined up to do the work. Is there a scenario I can set up where someone can purchase the distressed property on my behalf?

These are all cash deals.

And yes, a POA is a good choice in this case as long as whomever is acting for you is trustworthy and on the same page.
