just read an article that said Foxconn is pivoting.. instead of heavy duty manufactoring and 13k jobs.. they are now talking about more R and D and about half the jobs or less.. I wonder how many developers speculated on the 13k workers.. big difference in product R and D will want different housing than assembly line workers.

I always wonder when there is a big announcement, when the right time is to jump in. Half the time the plans change, scope or location, etc.

How do you evaluate these types of investments Jay? Do you stick to mature markets for development or do jump into markets like this where a big employer is coming?

well as we know generational wealth is created investing in the path of progress.. some paths are short some are very long..  I have one in Rohnert park ( 4 acres) I bought in 95  and got my first offer on it last year did not close.. but at least a developer took a swing at it..

I have another one in Portland that is 117 acres I option in 09 in the depths of the recession.. still working on it.. although Intel had indicated they are going to spend another 10 B on more fab plants and this property is 1 mile away..  so for now its a grass seed farm when it ripens it will be a 50 million dollar property..   Hopefully I am alive when that happens LOL.. other wise my grand kids will probably be quite happy  :)
