Thinking about using my VA Loan to purchase a triplex or even a quadplex. Does anyone have any experience with this before? Are there any restrictions or implications to renting out property using a VA Loan?

@Jacob Lindsey - I think this is an awesome idea and I recommend it too all my military clients.  There's no other product that allows you to buy a 4-plex with 0% down and no PIMI.  The only thing I'd caution is you will most likely get stationed elsewhere at some point, so do your homework early on a great property manager who will take the property over.

There's even products for the VA that will fund the rehab of a building, so you can force appreciation and sell it for a gain (or break even), in case you decide being a landlord isn't force

Good luck!
