How to search up someone's property in California by name?

I know how to search up all of someone's properties in the Harris County (Houston, TX) by their first and last name only, but is there a similar website for Bay Area properties in California where you can search up for someone's properties by their first and last name only? 

I am asking because I will be seeking rentals in both areas and want to verify the owner of the property to avoid scams.
