resale package needed from unresponsive HOA - alternatives sought

Hi all,

I've been in contract for a property since late Dec. The contract has been extended multiple times, with the final date being 2/21. We (the title company, me, my agent, etc) haven't received a response from the HOA regarding the current outstanding HOA fee balance. My agent is going to drive by the office tomorrow but I think it's unlikely he'll find anyone.

The attorney for the seller (Fannie Mae) suggested that I sign a hold harmless agreement so we can close in time. I declined as I'm not going to commit to paying an unknown amount.

Any suggestions on other ways of addressing this? Thanks!
