resale package needed from unresponsive HOA - alternatives sought

Hi all,

I've been in contract for a property since late Dec. The contract has been extended multiple times, with the final date being 2/21. We (the title company, me, my agent, etc) haven't received a response from the HOA regarding the current outstanding HOA fee balance. My agent is going to drive by the office tomorrow but I think it's unlikely he'll find anyone.

The attorney for the seller (Fannie Mae) suggested that I sign a hold harmless agreement so we can close in time. I declined as I'm not going to commit to paying an unknown amount.

Any suggestions on other ways of addressing this? Thanks!

Shashy B. I would be knocking on doors in the HOA asking who the president is and chase them down. Of course the lack of responsiveness would scare me in how the HOA is run and make me think twice about buying
