Hartford CT - what do you think of investing there?

Hi BP community. I’m looking at a commercial property (it’s a warehouse) in the North Meadows area of Hartford. It’s well located on a busy street. I’m interested in getting your opinion on investing in the city limits of Hartford and specifically in this neighborhood! If you are a local and have insight that would be great!

Hi Richard, 

I am a realtor that operates a property management company in and around the greater Hartford area. Without knowing where you are located I am unsure of how familiar with this part of the state you might be, so I apologize if you already know what I am going to mention. 

If I were in your position I would take a look at the crime and violence statistics for the area, namely the north end (north of route 44). I think you will see that it is a high crime area. Personally being that close to a hot bed for crime would have me concerned.
