Offer Accepted- Pending an in-person walk through?

Hello All, I recently put an offer in on a multi family unit ~6 hours from where I currently live. The offer was accepted pending I come to the site in-person and view it.... it will be 2 weeks before I can get out there (due to work and family obligations). Have any of you experienced this? Being required to see the units in-person as a stipulation to closing the deal? Why is this one of the seller's requirements? Thanks All!

Although I've never personally experienced this requirement, a couple of things come to mind. It sounds like the seller thinks you won't go through with the purchase if you don't see it. This could be because it's either 1) in very poor condition or 2) maybe there's someone catastrophically wrong with it that doesn't show up in pictures and he doesn't want you coming back after him after the closing?

These are just guesses...
