Quick question - hiring someone for "driving for dollars"

Hi guys!

It's been a little bit since I've posted on here. I have a quick question. 

I'm interested in hiring someone to drive neighborhoods for me. this would be part time work at 20 hours a week. 

I'm interested to know what is the best way to classify this person? Would they be considered an employee? a private contractor? statutory worker?

All information is appreciated! I plan on paying 10/hr but I'm worried about being liable if something were to go wrong.
