Loan for primary residency

Dear BPers

If I apply for a loan on a new property with the intention to move in and treat it as my primary residency, what are the minimal years that I need to live there? If I need to move before that minimal period due to job relocation or things of that nature, what are the proper ways to deal with the situation? Do I need to change the loan type back to investment loan?

Your information will be appreciated!

Lee
