Oil tank sweep, heavy metal readings in NJ
Good evening, I have officially put a property under contract. I had a oil tank sweep scheduled for Wednesday and he showed up today to the property not having access to the basement. He called me and told me that there was no access inside but he did a sweep and found a heavy metal signal picking up on the end of the property. I told him he wasn't allowed to be at the property today as he had no basement access. He then told me of I ask the home inspector to see if he could find any oil lines in the basement so he can then write up a report. I didn't think about it for a minute but I then called and left a voicemail that I will not ask my home inspector to check the oil lines for him and for him to be there Wednesday as originally scheduled. It's not fair having to pay him in full and get partial job done from him. But now I'm more worried about the oil tank, if there is one what should I do to get it removed? How can I negotiate this with the seller? Thank you kindly.
