Hard money lenders flips

Hello BP. I was just wondering, since alot of HML's will put down only 70% of ARV for flips, when I put down that other 30% do I get that money back when the house sells as well as the profit? Just can't wrap my head around the numbers I think I'm over thinking it.

you certainly do as long as the home sells for more than the loan and more than you invested.. there are occasions though were only the HML makes money and you as the operator lose money.. happens to us all if you have been in this long enough
