Is this realtor unethical?

Hi - we just submitted an offer for a best and final process at 2pm EST today. The listing agent now says that they will come back with feedback on Friday (3 days from now). I have never encountered this before and sense that the realtor is continuing to fish for more offers.

Is this unethical on part of the listing agent? Any action I can take to prevent this from happening again? Should i withdraw my offer to prevent it from being used as a fishing mechanism by the realtor?

Thanks

Shefali

Replied

as others have stated we all like to blame the agent.. but agents just want to close deals.. the last thing agents want to do is create more work for themselves.. this I would 99% say is coming from directions from the Seller..

Again as stated above you could simply say you need a response by a certain time or your offer is null an void..

In buyers markets like we had a few years ago it was not uncommon for me to get offers on my personal properties with  literally 2 hours to make up my mind to accept reject or counter.
