How many of you perform mold tests on a property you are buying. I have evidence of mold around an ac system. It looks like it could have been from a couple of years ago when ac was replaced. I went to home depot and got the pro lab sample kits. I tested two different ways. One was done with small petri dish. You let it sit for a couple of days and mold will grow. I spoke to pro lab and they told me everybody has mold spores. They said it really depends if a person is allergic to a particular one and is having health problems. So, I tried the petri method at my residence and sure enough, I grew mold on the dish. The second sample type I did, was a vaccume of dust from the house I have a contract on. I mailed it and a report will be sent to me about the type of molds, toxic or not. Prolab says there are thousands of types of mold spores but only 7 toxic. The house I am buying looks clean except for aroud the ac.
