Would you purchase a "new" SF home, in an older neighbor hood?
Hello Everyone,
Would you purchase a 2 year old SF home, in a neighborhood, where most of the SF homes, are 40+ years old?
Thank you for your time,
Raymond in Ct.

Everyone else gets a free ride off your property in value terms while theirs all drag you down, assuming yours in the nicest on the block. There are many other factors that should influence your decision though. If you are getting a great deal on it and walking into a considerable chunk of equity then the age of the neighborhood becomes less relevant. I would check the area to see if there are other projects (remodels, additions, etc.,) that will eventually help increase the overall value of the neighborhood. You want to see if the neighborhood is getting better....or worse.
