Deceased property Owner- in process of bank ownership?

Hey guys,

There is a property in my town I've been following for a few years now.

The woman who lived there died in 2010. The tax record still lists her as the taxpayer. However there is a notice/ no trespassing posted to the house from the bank that has been there for 2+ years.

I'm able to locate a Granddaughter through her obituary.

I'm trying to figure out where to go from here. Is there a way to confirm if it's bank owned yet? Or what would put the process on hold for 6+ years?

Any advice for a next step would be great. Thank you!
