how to tell septic or cesspool on foreclosure ?

the listing doe not state whoch one it is. 

Agent tells me i need to get an inspection to determine, which costs $300..

is that the only way to tell? if cesspool i won't buy it, and that means i just wasted my money.

Would the bank know?
