Buying abandoned homes cash

Hi all, I am looking for advice on finding homes that I can buy cash I'm always on the lookout for homes with overgrown grass and that need work that stick out. When I find them I can always put a postcard or knock on the door, but sometimes there is no one in the house or anything. Where can we look up to find the homeowners to that property so we can make them an offer or to have a conversation with them.
