What are best ways to receive payments form tenants and buyers?

In the past couple of years I have had more folks wanting to make payments other than sending checks in the mail.

I have two buyers making deposits into my bank account.

Three buyers are using a note servicing company called Evergreen. Evergreen tries to get a hearty fee if the the buyers make a payment over the phone on top of their already 17$ a month.

Now we have some buyers asking about PayPal.  I haven't used them to receive payments thru them in the past so I'm not sure how that would work.

One day I hope to travel and running to the post office to pick up checks would not fit into that goal. Any suggestions that you have used to collect payments would be appreciated.
