Where Auction Homes Happen?

So from what I know, here in Pierce County, Washington state there are auctions for homes every Friday at the court house? I'm assuming this is for homes for the beginning foreclosure auction (Non-judicial sale), but where do you find those homes that don't sell and go back to the bank as a REO?

Who are some auction agents in Tacoma, Puyallup, Olympia, Auburn, Kent, and so forth?

I've yet to do a deal as the listings off of the MLS are a feeding frenzy where multiple offers are being sent to force the price of a home into an unrealistic chance for an investor to make money.

Auctions, direct mail, and just calling the owners of homes seems to be the only way to find appropriate deals.
