Selling my home

I am currently renting out a home I used to live in. I want to sell the home but worry that in the meantime it will run my tenants away and will have to foot the mortgage until I find a buyer/invester. Am I wrong for having this fear? Does anyone know any tips or techniques that will help me alleviate lots of out of pocket costs it it becomes vacant and to sell quicker than what I would anticipate?
