I actually was going to ask the same question. Can u obtain a fha loan if you have the down payment but is currently unemployed? However, my family situation is a little different as I recently retired from the military and not working at the moment. We want to house hack but unsure if we would be approved for a loan with no immediate work history

Good morning BP, I recently retired from the military and now living in the Dallas area. I am looking into multi-family homes and always considered looking around a major military post given the fact that there are always people coming in (but also going out). It seems to me at first that since service members are guaranteed a paycheck, it seems like a good target area but on the other hand, I assume that those areas won't keep long term tenants because of deployments and changes of duty stations. Am I looking too deep into it or is this something I should consider?

Happy New Year. Lets make 2017 a good one

Happy new year. I just moved to Allen, tx and wanted to start networking in my area. Does anyone know of any real estate groups, gatherings, or points of contact in the Dallas/ Fort Worth, Allen, Plano, TX area.

Hi I also have similar interests in that area as I plan to move to somewhere close to the aforementioned places and possibly house hack in a multi-family. Please add me to your email list
All of your input is much appreciated. I will definitely keep those areas in mind as I am not tied to any one place and looking forward to physically exploring those areas upon my departure from the military. Are there any real estate groups in those areas that you know or apart of?
I am not too familiar with the area but have some interest in areas north of Dallas where the city could be reached around 20-30 min by car. Preferably in a multi-family home in a price range no more than $200,000 in a kid friendly area with fairly good schools, low crime, and access to numerous businesses and shops if at all possible. I know that might seem like a lot but that is a start. I can be somewhat flexible in my criteria and my search.
