When do I get a LLC?

I am buying a multifamily log cabin investment here in Payson, AZ. I don't know at what stage of purchasing do i need a LLC. We have submitted an offer in our names. However; I surely shouldn't put my name and my wife's name on it. Therefore; when should I get the LLC?

Sincerely

Greg

Are you paying all cash or bank financing? If all cash you would just purchase with your LLC as the buyer. If bank financing you need to wait for the loan to close in your name before you do a quit claim transfer. Make sure though that your title insurance will still be valid should you do this. In a lot of situations it could become void.

You should also make sure you have an umbrella insurance policy.  It can be as good if not better in regards to protection.
