Is doing "for sale by owner" detrimental for a home sale in NV?

Hello! I am for the first time trying to do a "for sale by owner" sale to sell a family home. I posted the house to Zillow, but have not had contacts yet. I wonder if the price was just too high at first (we lowered it) or if it has something to do with being listed as "for sale by owner." Does anyone know if this title is detrimental? Any tips on how to best sell a home in Carson City, Nevada, in this way? Perhaps it is just the nature of the market in this area - but I am unsure. Any guidance would be helpful. It is a large family home with amazing views and a few acres - really a nice place.

@Marielle Walter I have had the exact opposite experience of Charlie.. I have tried to sell FSBO and have never done it ... even in the Uber hot Silicon valley..

what I find happens is the buyers know its a FSBO and they expect you to right away discount the price by a normal real estate commission. First things out of their mouth..

Plus if your not really versed at RE it can be a little trying.. and of course strangers coming to the home etc.. You should take Colleen up on her offer..
