Section 8 approval under LLC owner is non resident

Hi all. I'm pretty sure this hasn't been asked, but if it has feel free to link! I'm not a resident of the US, I have a single member LLC (Tennesee) that i want to buy section 8 properties under. My question is, as i am not a resident, how will the HUD/Pha background check work? Will the authority reject me purely because they won't be able to properly background check me? Thanks in advance.
