Home owner occupied

I owned a home now which is are primary occupancy, but I like some input on my creative think with out breaking the law. Here is my thoughts; I'm thinking of renting my home to my kids and trying to by a triplex or duplex as owner occupied. How long would I have to live there after I buy the place?

My pleasure. I would have the kids buy the duplex/tri-plex using an FHA loan, you can go on the loan application with them as a non-occupying co-borrower to help them qualify. They can live in one unit and you can rent out the other units. :)
