Hey guys, I was wondering if any northern NJ investors had any golden advice on what areas have the best market for investing in multifamily homes. 1-4 units. Thank you and I appreciate the advice! I'm only 20 years old and just starting out so getting familiar with my surroundings is a must. I plan for a multifamily to be my first investment

I agree and I think that is the problem in the North Jersey area at least where I am looking. I operate in Bergen County and BC is mostly single family homes with a few towns you can find some two family zones and there in lies the problem I think. You have very few multi fam bldgs and you have people with money in the area looking to invest just like you. So do to the low supply of multi family housing and a lot of investors creates a lot of competition. That's why I think you need to think outside the box when it comes to searching for a property. I can almost guarantee you investors are all over the MLS and a lot of them pay cash and close quickly. Unless you want to operate in the Paterson area I think you will have stiff competition everywhere in NJ. I am not trying to discourage you far from that I am just telling you to search differently than the masses because there are a lot of them all looking for the same types of properties.
