Best Areas To Do Deals In

Hi I am new to the BP site and am new to investing in the USA. I live in Australia but I have a lot of real estate investment experience in the Australian market which I am now looking to use in the USA. It appears there are a lot of differences in our approach to real estate investing between our countries and I am keen to learn all I can. One of the greatest challenges I face is not having any geographical knowledge of where the best markets are. The USA is so large and not familiar to me so i would appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction of areas where I can start my research. I am looking for properties in Class A markets that can be improved to add value and then sold.
