i need help from anyone in the albany area of new york.

i am planing to look at a house i want to buy that is close to the 90 in between utica and albany closer to schenectady than utica.....

long story short its my first real project and first property in new york state so my main concern is i would like an inspector to come out and inspect the house with me. My concern is the seller said there are a few code violations so i immediately thought flood damage but they said it was just that that the previous tenants had to many pets and it needs kitchen cabinets and some floor work in the bathroom. I just want to make sure i wont have to tear down the house to get the floors up to code.

I am planing to make the drive up friday night and stay in a cheap hotel and spend saturday checking out my main prospect and other properties in the area. I do not know any inspectors in the area and don't want to just hit the yellow pages hoping to find one that works on a saturday for a reasonable rate.

Also i have very little experience and the little i do have was done with a far away branch of first american title company and they yessed me to death but than did a poor job assisting me with an access easement issue. And than they were quick to take the cash to close but not nearly as quick to actually close the deal. Needless to say  i am not using them again. So if anyone knows of a good local place for me to use in albany utica or anywhere in between please pass that along to me as well.

Well I am sure i could use as many good recommendations as i can possibly get so feel free to add in anything :)

p.s. on a side note i am also looking for a good general practice attorney in the nyc area but thats for another day and not needed by the end of the week.

I honestly have one inspector I would trust with any project. I've used him on my own home, and any investment I've bought.

I even recommend him to all buyer clients. (I'm a Realtor).
