Second Mortgage from family member - Does it need to go to Title Company

I have looked and not found anything on this.

I am getting a 75k loan from a family member and told them they would have a second on one of my multifamilies. Is it required to go through a title company and put them on deed? They have asked me about this.

I would prefer to keep in just between family, but I did offer a second to them.

Thank you, have the best day ever.

    @Paul

    @Paul Hurtubise especially family, it's not a law and you can do it yourself, but yes record a second deed of trust if you want money from them.
