Post: Second Mortgage from family member - Does it need to go to Title Company

I have looked and not found anything on this.

I am getting a 75k loan from a family member and told them they would have a second on one of my multifamilies. Is it required to go through a title company and put them on deed? They have asked me about this.

I would prefer to keep in just between family, but I did offer a second to them.

Thank you, have the best day ever.

Hello BP Community,

I have brokers asking for deposits now a days, is this something new? I have a 35 unit apartment building I am trying to refinance. I have 2 potential loans which are good, but they are asking for 8,300 and 10,000 for deposit for them, appraisal and 3rd party reports. I already lost 8500 last year with a company who pulled a bait and switch on me. Any input would be great. I am in a rehab loan I need to get out of.

The property is cash flowing.

Thank you in advance,

Paul

@Henry Lazerow

It would cause me to reconsider.

Hi, thank you for responding. I actually found a couple  since I asked this question ...

Submeter (water only) and Ion Energy Solutions (both water and power).

I think the price point may be better than Streamlabs.

Thank you.

Hi Ryan,

Drywall, flooring, plumbing and electrical. Different units will need different amounts of work.

Best,

Paul

Hi,

I am rehabbing a 35 unit apartment building in Evansville Indiana. I may need some backup contractors. Can anyone recommend some good contractors in the area? It would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Paul

Hi,

A friend of mine says she is looking for her next deal and I am bringing it to BP wondering if anyone knows something great out there. She is looking for a large out of state (from California) multi-family deal that has both appreciation and cash flow potential. I would look myself, but this is big and there are better people than me at finding deals and putting them together, so I am reaching out to them.

Thank you in advance,

Paul Hurtubise
