A recent tenant rent issue

I recently received this letter from my property manager. I'm curious as to what everyone's response or take on this is (any personal info removed of course).

Hi,

Just wanted to give you an update. There is an issue with this months rent. Tenant has a receipt from two money orders purchased totaling this months rent. Tenant claims to have dropped it off per usual except office was closed at the time so they put it in our outdoor drop box. No one in my office has it. Which means I do not have it. Tenant has put a trace on it. It will take up to 30 days for that to happen then up to 90 days to re issue them the new money order. They do not have the money to pay rent a second time this month (per the tenant). I do have the office manager still checking every nook and cranny. Will keep you posted on this issue. We had decided what to do before we were notified they found the money (24 hours later), but I'm curious as to what others would have done.

I had a tenant do this to me once on the third month they were there
I tried working with them
That was a big mistake
She started paying rent on time with a threat of court action
My opinion take court action do not wait
This is a business
It is the tenants responsibility to get you or the pm the rent no excuses
If you let the tenant slide they will continue to push you
Sounds like you might need new property manager that will take action and not call you with excuses
