Probate property Canadian Heirs

Hello

I have an executed purchase agreement with an estate in probate. Everything was all set for a closing but the deed needs to be signed by the PR and all the heirs. They are all Canadian residents and their notary is not recognized by US law.

Now they are being told they have to go to a US consulate which for some of them is hours away to get it notarized there. Anyone ever been in a situation like this? I am getting significant pushback from them about traveling to sign the deed.

Why are Canadian Notaries not recognized in the US.

Thanks
