Sqft discrepancy between tax and listed record

After I submitted an offer, I noticed that there was 500 sqft discrepancy between the county record and listed sqft. per the county record, 500 basement was unfinished basement, however when I toured the house, it was finished. wood panels on the wall, and finished concrete floor used for playroom. I am planning to add one bedroom in the basement, in the area that county considered as "unfinished". Anything I need to be cautious? thank you!
