Greeting from Jacksonville FL

I'm looking at properties in the Panama Park area of Jacksonville.  Area is north of the city close to Airport, zoo, city, but is very light on immediately close services like box restaurants, coffee shops etc.  The Trulia crime map indicates low crime.  Is there anyone who is familiar with this area and can provide input / feedback on buying rental properties there?

As far as the crime stats go, I think the best thing you can do is call the local police station. My father was a state trooper for 27 years and anytime one of us would move to an area he was unfamiliar with he would contact the closest police station. They are the ones who see the bad and the ugly in the community every single day. If you really want an idea of the area's crime rate, that's probably you best bet. Give them a specific area you're looking to move to and they can tell you what their experiences have been recently.
