Mobile Homes Requirements in Houston, TX

Hi everyone:

I would like to place a few mobile homes on a couple of lots in Houston, TX. From my understanding, Houston has no zoning. I called the city's planning department and was transferred to the "Planner of the Day." He confirmed the there are no zoning regulations, but that mobile homes are hard to get approved, as there are different requirements.

I asked what those requirements where, and he was unable to tell me. I also asked if he could connect me with someone that might know, and he said that he was unsure of who would know the answer.

Do any of you have experience with mobile homes in the Houston area? What are the requirements?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@Nubianna A.

I have a friend who ONLY lends on Manufactured Homes in parks or land not connected to the lot. Has done them since the 80s. Only works in ID, WA and OR.

Google - CU Factory Built, Triad and 21st Mortgage. Ask for a local rep to your area. All 3 will finance Manufactured Homes NOT on foundation if they are NOT connected to the lot. As little as 5% down. Post and pier is fine. Anything newer than June 15, 1976.

21st mortgage has the highest interest so try the others first.

Good luck and have fun!
