Thanks everyone for the great advice!

I think calling them mobile homes would be incorrect, as I am planning to get a series of tiny homes built. I assumed they would be classified as mobile homes because I dint want them to be permanently on the lots. Based on further research and comments you've made, I think I have a better idea of what direction I would like to go!

Thanks!

Thanks @Account Closed. I was hoping to do a temporary foundation like, gravel, and have them on post and pier. If I financed them with private money, would the concrete pad still matter?

Hi everyone:

I would like to place a few mobile homes on a couple of lots in Houston, TX. From my understanding, Houston has no zoning. I called the city's planning department and was transferred to the "Planner of the Day." He confirmed the there are no zoning regulations, but that mobile homes are hard to get approved, as there are different requirements.

I asked what those requirements where, and he was unable to tell me. I also asked if he could connect me with someone that might know, and he said that he was unsure of who would know the answer.

Do any of you have experience with mobile homes in the Houston area? What are the requirements?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks @William Collins. I appreciate how you've not only shared lessons learned but how you refuted the appraisal as well.

Hello,

I've recently joined BP as another way to further my knowledge of REI.

I look forward to interacting in the forums, meeting great people with the same interests and more experience, and overall  - learning and contributing.

I'd like to start off by wholesaling and work my way to owning 5 properties within the next few years).

Would anyone like to share the top 3 things you wish you'd know when you started investing?
